Rules as defined by the City of
Lewes, Delaware
Lewes Regulations
- No one allowed on beach from
midnight to 6 a.m.
- No dogs on beach from 8 a.m.
to 6:30 p.m. from May 1 to
Sept. 30.
- No alcoholic beverages, glass
containers or open fires on
beach.
- No smoking on the beach
- No sleeping on beach from 11
p.m. to 7 a.m.
- No horses, boats, fishing or
crabbing in restricted area --
300 feet offshore, 100 feet
west of Savannah Road to 500
feet west of westerly property
line of Pilot Point
Beach Usage Rules
The Port Lewes beach is protected by the Harbor of Refuge breakwaters.
This ensures a family... and child... friendly beach. From sunrise to sunset, the
beach is excellent for swimming, walking, kayaking, sunning and dolphin
watching.
